Roland Frasier Marketing Strategies Announces That Twitter Makes New Following and Followers Pages Live
Twitter is evolving constantly and they have now made some changes to the following and followers pages available on your, and everyone else’s, Twitter page.
The page design and features of the pages have both benefitted from upgrades. The biggest question is what do you think of them and will people like them because they make a better Twitter experience?
Now, when you click on “Following” you’ll find a new pull-down menu that includes several options such as:
- @ message
- unfollow them, or
- send them a direct message.
The photo to the right is an example of the new Following page in the new expanded view…
As I mentioned above, these features aren’t just available on your profile, but on any profile you visit.
As with almost all Web 2.0 properties, you can stick with the new view or arrange things so that you have a “classic” view that is close to what it was before these upgrades.
Below is a quote from the official Twitter blog about the upgrade…
“Instead of a basic list, there are now actions you can perform that provide a better overall experience. For example, you can turn on SMS, unfollow, mention, block, direct message, and more.”
Personally, I use several third party Twitter Apps to manage my follows, unfollows, Tweets and such, including Twitter Karma, Flash Tweet and TwitRobot.
I would love to hear what you think of these changes and what Twitter Apps you find to be most helpful! Please leave comments and feedback below!
